CLMM and multiple value characteristic assignment

Hi experts!

 

I've recently been asked to update many materials with a new characteristic value for a multiple-value characteristic.

 

Here's my issue:  All of the materials currently have assignments within this multiple-value characteristic.  I have tried using CLMM but cannot determine a way to add a new value to an object that already has classification (without overwriting all that is there already).

 

So, for example, I have this:

 

Material A1

     Class BOX

          Cstic STAMP

               Value UL

               Value CE

               Value UPC

 

And I want to use CLMM to change to this:

 

Material A1

     Class BOX

          Cstic STAMP

               Value UL

               Value CE

               Value UPC

               Value POSTAGE

 

There are many materials, and not all have the same values across the board.  Is there a way to use CLMM to achieve the above, or will I have to pursue another route?

Characteristic - Change Overview

I created one charatceristic using t-code CT04. The same is included in class type 300 using t-code CL02. Again this characteristic is classified in one more class (Class Type 012) by another user. This is done using t-code CT04 --> Menu Goto --> Classification. Where can I get the information which user classified this characteristic in class type 012 and when it is done.

Not getting all batches that are available while checking using CL30N

Hi SAP Gurus,

 

When I use T.code CL30N for a Class and Class type to find Object in classes for a vendor batch number (to find material batches for vendor batch number)  I am not getting all batches available in this list (ie., in Find objects in class) 

 

Since when I check one batch using MSC3N, I could see the same vendor batch number (but this is not getting displayed in CL30N).

 

I request your valuable inputs to overcome this issue.

 

I have attached screenshot of CL30N and MSC3N

Characteristics Value Restrictions

Dears,

 

I have created two characteristics color_family & color, how can i make that if i selected a value in color_family a specific values will appear in color so that i can chose from them ?

 

Example:

 

color_family:

 

red

yellow

green

 

color:

 

red 1

red 2

yellow 300

yellow 301

green 23

green 34

 

I need to restrict values red 1 & red 2 in color if i select red in color_family.

F4 Help for Characteristics

Hi Experts,

 

I have created a characteristic 'Department' and when I assign the table 'T527O' in the Value tab it gives an error " Check table T527O has too many key fields".

 

In the error it says that "Check tables with more than one key field are not supported. However,

if  you enter a function module for checking values, you can refer to any check table in your own coding."

 

I am able to see one radio button called "Function Module" when I click on Other Value Check on Value tab, but do not know how to use that.

Could anyone please guide me in this.

 

My requirement is:

1. create a characteristic called department.

2. link it to a class,

3. while creating a document in CV01N the f4 help should be available in department field.

Production Order Configuration

Hi,

 

So when a production order is created and released, it has it's own configuration that can be different from the Sales Order.

This means that if I change the classification of the related sales order, values will differ until I do a Re-read master data in the production order or if I use OCM.

 

I'm trying to read this configuration with function module VC_I_GET_CONFIGURATION for example, and I keep getting the classification of the sales order only.

 

Example:

 

Sales Order item 0000647709/000010 in VBAP has CUOBJ = 000000000000022173

Production order 000001001384 in AFPO has CUOBJ = 000000000000022173

 

So of course if I run FMVC_I_GET_CONFIGURATION with instance number = 000000000000022173, I will get the same result in both cases (the sales order configuration).

 

However, when I display the production order, it has a different configuration from the sales order.

How can I get the real production order configuration ?

Dependency code to count characteristics values

Hi All,

 

I have particular requirment with object dependency code.Say we have two characteristics assigned to a class .

The first characteristics values would have multiple values entered on it(For eg1st value=1001,2nd values=1002,3rd value=1003)

I need the second characteristics value to count the number of characteristics values in it.(Result to be populated=3).

Regrding maintenance work center ?

Dear All,

 

I have question related work center.

 

if i have two plants and that two plant like 2 maintenance plants like first is A and 2nd B, now if suppose A is our planning plant and B is under this planning plant. My question is this if we have 2 plant of one planning plant where plan all thing then for plant A & B have same work center or for different for accounting purpose.

 

                                                                                                 

 

                                                   A (Planning Plant)

 

 

                A (Maint Plant)                                                   B (Maint Plant)  

         For this they have same work center like for Mechanical, electrical and instrument etc or not

Dear Experts

 

I want to write object dependency for PDS in APO to select particular resource when planned order generated . i have seen the option under T-code PDS_maint . how to mantain .please suggest

 

scenario for example :

 

I have 10 resources . i want to make one of X resource to be selected always when ever planned orders are generated .Pls suggest

 

I can do these through procurement priority . But I want do these through object dependency

Pricing based on Variant configuaration/Variant condition records

Hi All,

 

Could you please suggest me how to configure the below requirements:

 

We have variant based pricing and currently there is only one variant which is used for pricing in sales order. Say X

 

There is another Variant Y for the same material & Plan is to use this for pricing too.

 

Condition records of both variants are maintained in the same access sequence.

 

Presently the configuration is in place and both variants are appearing in the sales order.

 

Plan is to have only one pricing activated in the sales order( for which the condition record is maintained)

 

If both condition records are maintained, logic has to pick Y variant.

 

Your inputs will be appreciated.

mass change characteristic value

Hi,

 

I've Created Characteristic - size - with charcateristic values 10 , 20 & Assigned to CLASS: CLASS TYPE 001, this i've assigned in material master - in classification tab & have set SIZE= 10.

 

i want to change  characteristic value from 10 to 20, In 5000 materials numbers


i'm unable to see classification tab details in MASS tcode
can you Pls. suggest how i can mass change characteristic value in material master.

CONFIGUARION_PROCESS_DATA error in sales order and variant configuration

Hello,

 

We have to create variant material while creation of sales order. i.e. user creates sales order, in that he will give configurable material as item and he hits it will leads to variant material creation. Once user enters the characteristics and check whether the material is exists or not. He press BACK and If variant material is not available , we did custom code to create material and executes all CS40.CA01,CK11N and CK24 transactions.

Here we were able to do all above said process but once the pop up comes with newly created variant material, and we are selecting that. Here we are getting the below error.

 

"Internal error in communication between configuration and sales doc. CONFIGURATION_PROCESS_DATA".

here CUOBJ created is not mating with internal CUOBJ i.e. 9999999999990001".

 

Please suggest are we missing any thing.

Date format conversion through OD

Hi Experts

 

My client has a requirement where QM inspector enters the value in a MIC (Date) which is further linked to Class characteristics (Initial_date). In this way, this value is getting updated in the batch classification (both are numeric format)

 

Another characteristic (Date format) is made i.e Actual_date and assigned to respective class.

 

Here is the requirement, Since the QA user enter the value as 21122013 and same is updated in Initial_date as 21122013 (on the basis of linkage between MIC and Class characteristics), Value in Actual_date should also get updated in final format i.e 21.12.2013.

 

Is it possible to achieve through OD assignment? If yes, what are required syntax to achieve this??

Load Material Classification Class Type 300 with Direct Input

Hi, I am trying to load classification via Direct Input in LSMW: Object: 0130 Method: 0001 Program Name: RCCLBI02 Program Type: B The program works perfectly when I am trying to load the class 001 with classification and value.  However when I try with the class type 300 where I just want to add a class to a material without any values for characteristics, I get errors in the batch input.  If I put nothing I get error and if I put "/" I also get an error. Can anyone help me with this?  The program is calling the transaction CL20.  I have tried with a recording with transaction CL20N and with MM02 and both doesn't work in recording. Thanks in advance for your help!

Cannot Change Object Type in CLMM

Gurus,

 

I'm using t-code CLMM to perform a SET AND CHANGE VALUES to perform a change against a characteristic within MSC2N that has a specific value and replace it with another.  When I enter into CLMM and specify the class type as 023 Batch, the linked object type is MARA.  Should this not be MCHA so I can locate all of the records that meet my characteristic value target and then perform the mass update?

 

I define the CLMM process as:

1.  Enter the characteristic name, old value, and new value in the CHARS tab.

2.  In the TARGET OBJS tab, I press the FIND OBJECT command button and find my batch class and press enter.

3.  I leave all values in the VALUES column empty and click on FIND IN INITIAL CLASS and get results.

4.  I press the SELECT ALL icon and press the green checkmark to transfer my selections to the next screen.

5.  I press the MASS UPDATE icon to process and get messages relating to OBJECT xxxxxxx IS NOT SUITABLE FOR THE INTENDED CHANGES.

Nothing gets processed.

 

What is the issue and is it relating to the MARA object type linkage?

Material classification with plant as additional key

Hello!

 

We want to clasify our materials with additional keys. Some keys are classic organisational entities like plant,

sales organisation and destribution channel another extra key would be country. We were abel to create the extra

classes with the extra keys, but couldn't find a way to integrate those in MM02. I managed to integrate the class

with the country as extra key in MM02, but I can not change the country field in MM02, so I'm maintaining data

with the field country empty.

 

Is there any way to integrate a class that has the key material number and plant in transaction MM02 with full functionality?

Inconsistent characteristic value assignment error

Hi,

 

I am new to VC and working for Steel Industry.

 

I want to do characteristic Value Assingment using MM01/MM02 - MRP3 view - > clicked Configure Variant.

 

The error shows as :

 

Inconsistent characteristic value assignment

Message no. C1821

 

The characteristic conflict shows for the characteristic Grade.

 

I have created the below masters.

 

Characteristics (CT04)

Class type 300 with Characteristics (CL02)

Material Master Classification assigned the class type 300 (MM01/MM02)

Configurable Material (MM01)

Dependency - (CU01/CU02)

Configuration Profile (CU41/CU42)

 

 

Anybody can please help me to solve this issue.

Problem in While processing LSMW of Characteristics Master.

VC team,

 

I have need to configure LSMW for the VC master data. When I am doing LSMW for the characteristics master CT04 I am facing the following problem.

 

Method: Batch input Recording.

 

While recording my transaction CT04 I am seeing following screen and unable to process further.

Once I will press enter, the given characteristics name is getting erased and if I will click on create button everything become grayed out and just able to press back button.  

 

 

Am I following some wrong method? What is the best method to create LSMW program for VC master data.

Any document or any suggestions, please provide me.
