No BOM explosion in production order

Dear experts;

 

I'm testing a scenario for production with variant configuration, not in the level of sales... and here are the steps:

 

1- I created a configurable material X with type KMAT, and I created a Configuration profile for this material, with multilevel BOM explosion checked, and all the required settings.

 

2- I created super BOM with class nodes and some selection conditions and super Routing with no dependencies.

 

3- I created a finished product Y with type FERT, this one is Configured with all values, and the reference is material X.

 

4- By testing the configuration simulation for the configurable material X with the values assigned to material Y.. class nodes were replaced perfectly with the needed materials.

 

5- when creating a production order for the Configured material Y ... it stated that no valid routing, and no valid BOM.

 

I dunno why the tested BOM in the simulation is not copied to the production order..

 

 

 

Does anyone has any clue ?!

Base Price Calculation based on value of the Characteristics of Variant Configuration Material

Hi All,

 

Good Morning,

 

I have created Product B which is a variant configuration material.

 

I have defined one characteristics Area of Material : (Length * Width * No of Pieces)1000000 = This will give the value in m2.

 

This is getting calculated correctly.

 

Now as per the requirement, the Base Price PR00 has to be calculated based on the Value of this characteristics and not on the number of Pieces of Product B.

 

Note : The Conversion factor cannot be maintained as the Area gets calculated based on the formula.

 

 

The Calculation should happen as per below example.

 

100 Rs per M2 if Area is 3.4 M2 then Base Price will be 100*3.4 = 340 INR.

 

Kindly share your valuable inputs.

BOM Explosion error

Dears,

 

i have an issue here .. my VC structure is

 

KMAT (1000551) have two variants (4000181) (4000182)

 

the KMAT one have super bom which contain one class .. this class replace with one of this raw materials (1000559) (1000560) (1000563) (1000562).

 

my problem when i create a production order for the variant material i got this error

also i created the BOM link to the KMAT and added the material to the routing

 

 

and when i run CU50 for the KMAT material i got the variant and the bom item

so what i can do to solve this BOM explosion error.

 

i tried to follow this steps and i didn't get any result

mass change characteristic value

Hi,

 

I've Created Characteristic - size - with charcateristic values 10 , 20 & Assigned to CLASS: CLASS TYPE 001, this i've assigned in material master - in classification tab & have set SIZE= 10.

 

i want to change  characteristic value from 10 to 20, In 5000 materials numbers


i'm unable to see classification tab details in MASS tcode
can you Pls. suggest how i can mass change characteristic value in material master.

SAP VC -Procedure - IF_ELSE

Dear Team,

 

I am writing global dependency in CU01 (Dependency type: Procedure) as below. And I am getting below error. Is it not possible include ELSE also along with IF condition?

 

In the below dependency, if I remove the ELSE part, it working fine. How to include ELSE part also in the below dependency?

Syntax to add interval

Hi I want to add interval for a characteristics. I was searching on SAP help an found that the interval entered as below

 

LENGTH IN ( 5 - 10)

 

when I am giving this syntax replacing Length with my characteristics its giving error "E28024 Syntax error in simple action/procedure"

 

1. Please advise what is the syntax for updating interval

2. Any link/Book that refers to the VC syntax?

Reference characteristics with MARA-MATNR

Hi ,

 

I have defined characteristics "MATNR" as reference characteristics with reference to table MARA and field MATNR. Requirement is to default material number against this characteristics. Value for this characteristic gets defaulted in material classification view however it is not defaulted in configuration profile of material in CU42. I have tried working with other tables MAAPV and MAEPV but value does not get defaulted to material number.

 

Can you please suggest solution for this issue.

Some very irritative fetures of Variant Configuration Screen. Agree?

Hello Guys,

 

Some of the things I feel very irritating while working on SAP VC module. So, I am going to post here. If you guys feel I can do better please suggest your words.

 

1.  Wen we have to many line item order (Ex - 10 to 15 or more) and business has issue in VC configuration of multiple line items. I need to go one by item and check.

 

Here How we have option in sales order line item screen we can change line item by pressing next button. Why same kind of features is not available for SAP VC? Every-time I need to come out of one configuration select another line item and open configuration.

We can not change sales order configuration screen line item by line item. (Uffff)

 

2.   In configuration profile, dependency assignment screen we don't have option to find/ search.

      We have many procedure assign and now to find out some exact procedure I need to lot scroll down lot and read carefully one by one procedure         name. I need find/search option here.


3.  To change any constraint logic I can not change constraint independently. (Dependent on Net dependey)

     Every time i need to find net dependecy for the same, go to VA22 and open list of constraint under that. from the list of constraint find out my      required constrain and make the chnage. (Specially problem when to many contrsint is assign). I need find/search option here and should have one      transaction code which dirrectly allow me to chnage my desired constrain as like CU02.

(MARA)-Matnr in char/configuration profile

Hello SAP Gurus,

 

I am having an issues getting the matnr in a char automatically.

So far I've tried MARA-Matnr, VBAP-Matnr, using a dependency on a high level item in a BOM to copy the component, and many more.

VBAP-MATNR works a little, but it takes the high level material in which the material is in a BOM from.

 

Like xxx has a sales bom that includes yyy. When I use VBAP-matnr it'll say in the char of yyy the value: xxx.

 

So I have discovered that this is due to the High-Level configuration.

 

So that leaves out the vbap table. The only way I can think of right now is getting a char filled in on the configuration profile immeadiatly. One that is somewhat independent from sales order configuration.

Copying user Interface design of configuration profile

Hello,

 

I have created a configuration profile for a material with user interface design. I have maintained the group of characteristics using value assignment > interface design > characteristics grouping.

 

Can I copy this interface design with the characteristics groups under different name and then make changes in it?

It will help me to save my time to create it from scratch.

Any Screen Exit Available?

Hello All,

 

I have a requirement wherein I need to provide a custom screen for the user to enter values for some characteristics, and based on a logic, the values should be passed back to the respective characteristics in the characteristic value assignment screen.

 

Does anybody know or used any screen exit? We have found an exit to write the logic but I am unable to find an exit to provide a custom screen.

 

 

Require your inputs/suggestions on this.

SAP VC - Configuration Profile - CU41

Dear Team,

 

I am setting the configuration profile in CU41 for my KMAT material. in Cu41 we have different options as below (Planned / Prod Order, SET etc). But I could not able understand under which business condition what needs to be selected. Could anyone help me with simple example in what condition what option to be selected.

 

The SAP F1 help was not clear to me on this.

VC characteristics description for a material by PROD order no

Hi ,

 

I want to get the VC characteristics description for a material which is in prod order,

 

I know we can get the VC characteristics for a SALES ORDER NO By passing the SO and item no to fm  VC_I_GET_CONFIGURATION'

 

But my question is using PROD order and material no , I already searched SCN but no luck for my issue.  I dont know why my previous thread was rejected and the answer does not exist in SCN for this. Please dont reject un necessarily, these are important for us.

VC Interface design - pushbuttons

Hi

 

is there any way to have more than two columns in pushbutton screen?

 

I have 3 sets of characteristics, both 36 characteristic showing cumulative values (ID, thickness and total diameter of a tube) so it would be important to show all on one screen, side by side

Edit SuperBOM Variant Configuration Selection Condition Outside SAP

Hello,

 

I am a .NET developer and no nothing about SAP. Somehow I've been given the task to build a superBOM editor in .NET.

 

The part I'm struggling with are the selection conditions. I will call a bapi that returns superBOM information. The selection condition code will be returned as a long string. They expect me to parse the string and represent the code in a GUI of drop downs, where they can add, delete, modify, etc. Then I must take the user input and build a new selection condition string to pass back to SAP.

 

Building the code doesn't seem too bad to me. However the code parsing part is giving me trouble. It just seems to me there should be something built into SAP that could parse the selection condition code and just send me all the characteristics and the values.

 

I understand all the characteristics are stored in a table. So somehow SAP must cross reference this table somehow and compile the selection condition code and get meaning from it.

 

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Characteristic value Counter (AUSP-ATZHL)

Dear Expert,

 

I have some problem to link data between table AUSP and CAWN / CAWNT.

I have created characteristic/class for equipment and assigned into equipment master.

There are 8 possible values in for characteristic so in the table CAWN there are 8 values which CAWN-ATZHL has value 1-8.

Then when I assigned class with this characteristic to one equipment and selected value number 5, in the table AUSP does not show the correct value. The characteristic value counter (AUSP-ATZHL) is 1. Once I changed the value for this characteristic in the equipment master, the characteristic value counter (AUSP-ATZHL) is switched from 1 to 2 only. It seems that AUSP-ATZHL is not linked to CAWN-ATZHL.

Variant Configuration dependencies in UI5 Application

Hi Experts,

 

I am fairly new to Variant Configuration concepts and we have a requirement where we need to replicate some basic concepts like characteristic selection and dependencies to UI5.

 

I have debugged the CU50 transaction to an extent that I may write the dependencies functionalities to a new RFC FM which would give me the required result in a odata service which would send the data to a UI5 Application.

 

But before I take such a step, I wanted to check whether I am going too overboard or am I missing any specific FM which can give me the same result.

 

I understand that the Variant configuration screen in CU50 and the function group which has the functionalities are very tightly coupled.

Hope there is an easier way..
