Requirment for Material Variant

Hi all

I have  Client Requirment  as below

 

For My Material Variant Created with Refernce to  Configurable Material, the BOM should not get exploded it should explode at Single Level, and Requirments need not  get Transferred down the Level , is there any customisation settings for the same, if any body has some ideas Please share.

 

 

for Example I have Material Variant - CAR_MV  and configurable Material- CAR_CM

and in my BOM of CAR_CM I have two components i.e  CAR_ASSEMBLY & CAR_ACCESORY.

 

Requirment is when I Create Sale Order for Material Variant CAR_MV  the configuration needs to get copied from configurable Material-CAR_CM  and only BOM should explode up to Single Level. say up to CAR_CM

 

It should not explode components

CAR_ASSEMBLY & CAR_ACCESORY.

"0" Before Number - CT04

Hello Expert!

 

I'm creating a new characteristic on CT04, Data Type: NUM Numeric format.

 

Its values needs to have 5 caracters, but the field does not consider the "0" before the numbers.

 

Example: I put the value "00091", and in the field considered only "91"

 

Do you know something to consider the "0's" before the numbers?

Inferring values for multiple value characteristics

Hi,

 

We have defined characteristic "Extras" as multiple value characteristics. This characteristics can contains multiple values at a time. We are defining variant table to derive values for these characteristics based on variant table. But "Extras" being the multiple value characteristics, its not allowed to be used in dependency procedure.

 

Can you please let me know, if there is any workaround to infer multiple values for characteristics "Extras" based on variant table.

CU50 Configuration: Characteristic Value Assignment & Inconsistencies

Hello Gurus,

I am using CU50 to test my configured material profile.  There are many 'entry required' characteristics, some depending on a value selection of another. 

 

When testing, I like to go directly to the yellow light under 'Status' and double-click for a list of inconsistencies/entry required chars that are not yet set with a value. 

     There may be 5 characteristics that need a value, but if I select the second(2nd) characteristic that pops-up, the remaining four(4) will get populated through table constraints and/or more entry required chars will become inconsistent. Therefore, I want the second(2nd) characteristic to show first(1st).

 

The question is: When double-clicking the yellow/inconsistency button, what determines the (sorting) order in which the inconsistent characteristics are displayed?  Can I control this somehow?

Hi All,

 

are there any exits which can be used to enhance the variant table editing in PMEVC? For example create custom F4 helps on the characteristic values etc.

 

Any experience on this?

CLMM and multiple value characteristic assignment

Hi experts!

 

I've recently been asked to update many materials with a new characteristic value for a multiple-value characteristic.

 

Here's my issue:  All of the materials currently have assignments within this multiple-value characteristic.  I have tried using CLMM but cannot determine a way to add a new value to an object that already has classification (without overwriting all that is there already).

 

So, for example, I have this:

 

Material A1

     Class BOX

          Cstic STAMP

               Value UL

               Value CE

               Value UPC

 

And I want to use CLMM to change to this:

 

Material A1

     Class BOX

          Cstic STAMP

               Value UL

               Value CE

               Value UPC

               Value POSTAGE

 

There are many materials, and not all have the same values across the board.  Is there a way to use CLMM to achieve the above, or will I have to pursue another route?

Dear Guru,

 

hello, i'm new on Variant Configuration and need your input.

I have dependency characteristic and I want to assign multiple value as a precondition. In the editor I wrote below syntax :

     $set_default($self, tpreast, in(6 - 11))

I want to put multiple value to characteristic tpreast from 6 to 11. but the above syntax generated error message :

     Reference to object $root, $parent, or $self required

Please let me know the correct syntax for above requirement. Appreciate your help.

Simulate order routing like tcode CU50

Hi Gurus

 

I have a requirement very special.

 

I need to simulate que order routing of a comercial document that has no yet created an production order. This simulation is perfectly recrated on transaction CU50, because it gives me the resulting routing based on the sales document configuration.

 

Now what I need, is a way to replicate/use the CU50 transaction on an abap program that retrieves the resulting simulation routing of several sales documents.

 

I don't know if this is posible via LSMW o FM o BAPIs

 

 

hope someone have a useful idea.

Need your suggestions on how to map the below requirement.

 

Header Material Code:  Genset10

 

 

Requirement : -

1

While creating Sales order, user will select Genset material code

2

System will ask for Control panel option (may be a pop-up) and user will select one from the  options and enter

System will further ask for Additional material required and user might select none, one or more, from the available options and enter.

Further user will create production order with reference to the Sales order number and system will select the required alternative BOM for that, based on the options selected above in Sr. no. 2 and 3.

Variant Configuration dependencies in UI5 Application

Hi Experts,

 

I am fairly new to Variant Configuration concepts and we have a requirement where we need to replicate some basic concepts like characteristic selection and dependencies to UI5.

 

I have debugged the CU50 transaction to an extent that I may write the dependencies functionalities to a new RFC FM which would give me the required result in a odata service which would send the data to a UI5 Application.

 

But before I take such a step, I wanted to check whether I am going too overboard or am I missing any specific FM which can give me the same result.

 

I understand that the Variant configuration screen in CU50 and the function group which has the functionalities are very tightly coupled.

Hope there is an easier way..

Dependency code to count characteristics values

Hi All,

 

I have particular requirment with object dependency code.Say we have two characteristics assigned to a class .

The first characteristics values would have multiple values entered on it(For eg1st value=1001,2nd values=1002,3rd value=1003)

I need the second characteristics value to count the number of characteristics values in it.(Result to be populated=3).

Transfer of characterstic values from class 300 to class 023

Hi ,

I have configurable material , and 2 classes of class type 300 and 023 are attached to it, name for classes are same and it have same set of characteristic.

when I create a sales order I can assign values to configuration as well as generate Batch.

but after MRP run when I convert plan order to production order , few characteristic values are getting disappeared.

when I confirm order and checked the batch it have no values at all.

so can some one know , why the transfer of characteristic values are not happening?

I am assuming that as name of classes and characteristic are identical , values assign at higher class ( 300) will be automatically copied to lower class (023).

Do I need to define something in configuration or apply some note?

Variant Configuration: inherit Crts value to change BOM item Qty

Hi Experts,

 

I got a problem with Characteristic value cross-level inheritance, here is structure of the VC:

There is no problem on left hand side of chart, but got problem with right hand side of chart (See RED portion) - make Kit Qty change by Qty entry on top level characteristic.

 

 

 

I wrote an OD as below, and assigned it to BOM item of Kit B1

     $self.[Kit B1 Quantity] = $root.[Moduel A Quantity]

 

 

also assigned Characteristic to class of Product X & Module B

 

to inherit characteristic value from top to 3rd level, I wrote a constraint:

 

Constraint in Dependency (assign to config. profile of Module)

OBJECTS:

RL IS_A (300) PRODUCT_CLASS,

MET IS_A (300) MODULE_CLASS

 

 

RESTRICTIONS:

MET.KIT_B_QTY = RL.MODULE_A_QTY

 

 

INFERENCES:

MET.KIT_B_QTY

 

 

but it is still not work...

mass change characteristic value

Hi,

 

I've Created Characteristic - size - with charcateristic values 10 , 20 & Assigned to CLASS: CLASS TYPE 001, this i've assigned in material master - in classification tab & have set SIZE= 10.

 

i want to change  characteristic value from 10 to 20, In 5000 materials numbers


i'm unable to see classification tab details in MASS tcode
can you Pls. suggest how i can mass change characteristic value in material master.

Value Inheritance i variant classes

Hi

I woudl like to inherit values from a root class

 

PRODUCT

     Char COLOUR

 

     THING_CLASS

        COLOUR - blank

          DIMMENSION

 

I can't seem to get the value to COLOUR of THING_CLASS unless i make a procedure on the configuration profile of the material with THING_CLASS

Is there some way to make THING_CLASS always get value from $Root other than configuration profil, I tried to put an dependency on the class but it didn't work. I would like not having to assign procedures to all configuration profiles.

Simulation Mode not working when Transferring BOM Quantity Values to Superior Item

Hello All,

 

I have created the following characteristic and assigned the same to class

The character has the following values

Bills of material have been created for the superior configurable item.

The object dependency has been written in cu03 transaction code to transfer the quantity in the bills of material to the characteristic values of the superior item

The object dependency code has been assigned to the configuration profile

However when I check the  result in simulation mode. The value 3 is not coming automatically which needs to be set in the characteristic value of the superior item (summation of the qty of the bills of material created in cs03)

Please advice if I am missing any configurations.
